Chiediamo ad Alessandro Guidone studente del Liceo Scientifico “Axel Munthe” con diploma di maturità votazione 100 e lode una breve biografia ed originalità e talento traspaiono subito.
“Mi chiamo Alessandro Guidone e sono stato concepito a Capri il 6 Novembre del 2001. Non credo che la mia vita sia degna di nota: sostanzialmente mangio, respiro e dormo molto. In altre parole, non ho social e non sono un influencer”.
E poi altre risposte che non sono da meno e che dimostrano che la lode è azzeccata più che mai, che con Alessandro ci troviamo dinanzi ad un’eccellenza. 100 e lode alla maturità, cosa si prova ad essere il “primo della classe”?
“Se mi chiede cosa si prova ad aver ricevuto questo lodevole riconoscimento, le rispondo che, quando ho constatato l’ufficialità del rispecchiamento di pronostico (non d’ambizione), le rivelo con tutta serenità che quel giorno ho dato un po’ di matto. Ora, se mi chiede cosa si prova ad essere ‘primo’ e a ‘superare’ in calcio d’angolo una banda di ‘incapaci’, le rivelo che è la stessa emozione che provano coloro che si vedono rispecchiati costantemente in un 5 ambiguo. Non c’è competizione in me, al contrario di quel che si possa pensare. Non vorrei sembrare brutale, ma a me importa essere ‘primo’ rispetto a me medesimo, non rispetto ad altre menti che, per caso fortuito, non sono state valorizzate a dovere pur essendo sorprendentemente valide e brillanti. Il voto che mi ha fatto gioire di più? Il 3 e mezzo in una prova di matematica di due anni fa. Questo significa ‘gareggiare’: affinare le tue capacità per ‘scalare’ le varie fasce di voti e cercare di arrivare quanto più in cima possibile. Ovviamente non si nasce santi: la sana competizione può andare bene, ma in un contesto a sua volta sano”.
Come mai hai scelto il liceo scientifico come indirizzo di studi?
“In realtà, lo ha scelto mia madre. Ero indifferente su ciò: non cambia la vita e non è limitativo”.
Cosa farai dopo la scuola?
“Per suddetta ragione, il mio percorso è scientifico, tuttavia voglio lavorare in ambito umanistico. Sa, vedermi travolto da numeri e congetture mi fa pensare a una vita alquanto triste… Tutti hanno sempre voluto vedermi medico e, forse, hanno ragione da vendere. Cercherò di vivere nel limbo del curatore di anime. La Merini sarebbe fiera di me”.
Quale è stato l’argomento principale che hai discusso durante l’esame di maturità?
“Il calcolo differenziale, l’entusiasmante figura dell’inetto in Svevo, lo slancio vitale in Bergson e le problematiche travolgenti legate al MES”. Nei tuoi anni di scuola sei stato anche vincitore del concorso di scrittura “Premio Maria Laura Di Pietro” che cosa rappresenta per te la lettura? “Non so cosa rappresenti per me la lettura ma posso dire che, in generale, crea il pensiero e quindi il carattere. Credo che sia un modo per socializzare con molte celebrità (chiamiamole così) inaccessibili, vive e morte”.
E la scrittura?
“Beh, questo è un mistero. Non il fatto che scriva (neanche assiduamente), ma il fatto che c’è gente che creda che io sappia scrivere”.
Il libro che hai letto che ti è piaciuto di più?
“Bella domanda. Se avesse due figli, chi preferirebbe? Sarebbe molto più semplice parlare dei libri più squallidi che abbia mai letto, ma quelli non li ho mai finiti. Colgo l’occasione per ricordare il genio di Carlos Ruiz Zafon (l’unico autore di cui ho letto tutti i libri) che ha impoverito il mondo lasciandoci prematuramente pochi giorni fa”.
Il tuo pensiero sull’isola di Capri?
“Se non si fosse capito, sono molto schietto e lo sarò anche ora. Capri è come una bionda (se dessimo retta ai banali stereotipi): bella da morire, ma stupida come una capra. Tutto rispetto per le capre. È stato un piacere collaborare con Voi”.
Not the fact that I write…but that there is people who believe I can write
When we ask Alessandro Guidone, student at the “Axel Munthe” scientific high school with a full marks diploma, for a brief biography, his talent and originality are quickly revealed.
“My name is Alessandro Guidone and I was born in Capri on November 6th, 2001. I do not believe my life is noteworthy: basically, I eat, breathe, and sleep a lot. In other words, I do not have any social network and I am not an influencer”.
And then other answers, no less witty, that reveal how these full marks are deserved more than ever and that Alessandro is an excellence.
Full marks, how do you feel being the “top of the class”?
“If you ask me what it is like receiving this distinguished acknowledgement, I will say that when I realized the fulfillment of the prediction (not the ambition), I can reveal in complete tranquility that I went a little crazy. Now, if you ask me what I feel, being the ‘top’ and ‘overcoming’ at the last moment a pack of ‘incompetents’, I will say that it is the same emotion that many feel when they see themselves constantly reflected in an ambiguous 5. There is no competition in me, contrary to what you could think. I do not want to seem brutal, but I only care about being the ‘top’ compared to myself, and not to other people who, for pure chance, have not been acknowledge as they should be despite being surprisingly bright and worthy. The grade I was the proudest of? A 3 ½ in a Math test two years ago. This is what it means to ‘compete’: improving your skills to ‘climb’ the different grades and trying to reach the highest possible grade. Of course, we are not born saints: a healthy competition is good, but it must be in a healthy environment as well”.
Why did you choose the scientific high school?
“Actually, my mother chose it. It was the same in any case for me: it does not change or limit your life”.
What will you do after finishing school?
“For reasons above, my path should be a scientific one, however I want to work in the humanistic field. You know, being surrounded by numbers and theories makes me think of a rather sad life…Everyone always saw me as a physician and, perhaps, they are right. I will try to live in the limbo of the healer of souls. Alda Merini would be proud of me”.
What were the main subjects you discussed during your final exams?
“Differential calculus, the exciting figure of the inept in Svevo, the vital impulse in Bergson and the overwhelming issues related to the ESM”.
During your school years you also won the “Maria Laura Di Pietro Award” writing contest; what does reading represent to you?
“I do not know what it represents for me, but I can say that reading creates thought and therefore personality. I believe it is a way to socialize with many unreachable celebrities (let us call them this way), alive and not”.
And what about writing?
“Well, that is a mystery. Not the fact that I write (not even that often), but that there are people who believe I can write”.
Your favorite book?
“That is a good question. If you had two children, which one would you prefer? It would be much easier talking about the worst books I ever read, but I never finished those. I take this opportunity to remember the genius of Carlos Ruiz Zafon (the only writer of which I have read all the books), who impoverished the world leaving us too soon, a few days ago”.
Your thoughts on the island of Capri?
“If it wasn’t already clear, I am very blunt, and I will be even now. Capri is like a blonde (if we followed trivial stereotypes): beautiful, yet dumb as a goat. With no offense to goats. It was a pleasure talking with you”.
